Create new Windows Server users via Computer Management and assign groups like Administrators or Remote Desktop Users – with security recommendations.

Add users on Windows Server

Right-click the Windows logo → Computer Management → Local Users and Groups → Users.

Right-click in the list → New User. Set username, full name, password and options (e.g. change password at logon) → Create.

Rights: Right-click user → Properties → Member of → Add. E.g. Administrators (full), Remote Desktop Users (RDP) or Users (standard).

  • Security: Use strong passwords; grant Administrator only to trusted users.
  • RDP: Remote Desktop Users group required for RDP access.
