Minecraft Vanilla server (Linux)

mkdir minecraft && cd minecraft

Copy the JAR URL for the intended version from the official Minecraft server page. Hard-coded object URLs age quickly, so verify the version and file size before starting it.

curl -fL "OFFICIAL_SERVER_JAR_URL" -o server.jar
ls -lh server.jar

In eula.txt set: eula=true

screen -S minecraft

java -Xmx2048M -Xms2048M -jar server.jar nogui

Detach: Ctrl+A, D. Reattach: screen -r minecraft. Players connect to server-IP:25565.
